A Season of Reflection

As many of our patrons are aware, we are taking this year to reflect on how ReVamp Collective can better serve the current conversation and our communities. A year of reflection on our past projects and resetting for the future is necessary for growth and change. Nevertheless, we will continue our mission of resetting the feminist default through projects that allow the Collective’s members to explore diverse artistic forms and support our development as artists.
With company members now residing in Philadelphia, Cincinnati and Los Angeles, we will continue to support theatrical work that reflects our mission on our social media and newsletter in these cities!

Additionally, if you are producing or participating in a production which aligns with ReVamp Collective's mission,
please reach out via email.

The Kilroys

For the past five years The Kilroys, an LA-based collective of playwrights/producers, continuing the fight to achieve gender balance in the American theater, have been advocating for equal representation on our American stages, and have released an annual list of under-produced plays by woman, trans, and non-binary writers.

FOX & DOG ANNOUNCES

THE GLASS CEILING SERIES FREE RIGHTS INITIATIVE,

OFFERING FREE PRODUCTION RIGHTS TO PLAYS
ABOUT WOMXN DRIVEN BY GREATNESS AND FAILURE

The Glass Ceiling Series Free Rights Initiative addresses the current theatrical landscape, which still
primarily favors roles and employment for men. The three protagonists at the center of the series buck
that trend with resilient and multifaceted personalities. Fox & Dog wants to encourage femme creative
leadership throughout each step of the theatrical process. Any production of the plays presented as part
of the Glass Ceiling Series Free Rights Initiative will require a majority femme production and creative
team. In participating, institutions will establish an opportunity for these perspectives to have more
ownership in creative conversations about the human condition.

Each of the plays in the Glass Ceiling Series finds its protagonist achieving success in industries typically
dominated by men. The intention in creating the Glass Ceiling Series was to create roles in which womxn
are allowed to be strong, complex, and flawed. These plays seek to normalize the stories of womxn in
industries that are typically dominated by men. This series consists of the plays D-Pad, Go Ahead, and
Watch Me Jump.

D-Pad follows Alex Newbauer, an award-winning video game developer who achieved early success
creating a major studio game out of college. Striking out on her own, she has to figure out how to release
her first self-financed game, based on her sister’s humanitarian efforts, on time.

In Go Ahead, middle school history teacher Liz Vale-Arries has always dreamed of becoming an
astronaut. So when she is unexpectedly chosen for a mission to Mars, she must choose whether to stay
on Earth with her wife or to become a part of the history that she teaches.

Watch Me Jump revolves around WNBA all-star Audra Bee Mills, who is working to close a deal on
becoming the highest paid womxn’s basketball player in the world. When a scandal emerges the night
before Game One of the playoffs, she must work to keep her career and dignity intact.

For the centennial anniversary of the 19th Amendment’s passage, applications for production rights of the
plays in the Glass Ceiling Series will be accepted beginning Saturday, March 30, 2019, and ending on
Thursday, December 31, 2020. The rights will be open to professional, non-professional, and university
theaters outside of the Philadelphia region.

Fox & Dog is a media company based in Philadelphia, created by director/dramaturg/producer Brey Ann
Barrett and playwright/video game developer Jeremy Gable. The plays in the Glass Ceiling Series have
been presented in the National New Play Network’s National Showcase of New Plays and the Great Plains Theatre Conference, as well as being recognized as a finalist in the Eugene O’Neill Theater
Center’s National Playwrights Conference. The video game adaptation of Watch Me Jump was a finalist for the Independent Game Festival’s Excellence in Narrative Award.

For press inquiries, interview requests, or to apply for production rights,
Fox & Dog can be reached via e-mail at wearefoxanddog@gmail.com.

As a grassroots theatre company, we aim to always follow mission by resetting the feminist default & creating theatre for social change.
